Sorry Alien, no Edler to BOS.
B's have more LD on the NHL roster & 'in the system' than practice pucks @ Warrior Arena.

Fair enough it doesn't really matter where he's traded

Ottawa traded a 2nd rounder for the corpse of Stepan. Eriksson could easily go to Ottawa for nada.

Ottawa doesn't resign their veterans like BoroCop and trades away their veterans like Stone to get younger but sign terrible older vets to take away ice time from the younger players

Dorion is out of his mind!

Now trying to trade Stepan already and they'll have to give up a pick to get rid of him after 10 games while they already gave a 2nd.

He has an NMC - so you are going to be very limited for trade partners or have a cr*ppy list of clubs submitted by his agent. A serious cup contending team will likely be the only thing he would agree too.
He's UFA (rental) just let him expire until seasons end - which for Van looks to be soon - May 8th 2021.

Edler is looking like a he should retire, signing him again shouldn't be an option.

          Seattle passes on Holtby.

TB ???? Only ~25 teams make better offers. They'll just keep him...

Likely will not happen. He more than likely still wants to play. Also Canucks will more than likely hold onto Sutter. Benning seems to really like him. I honestly wish all these trades would happen but I don't think its likely, Benning "wouldn't have time" just like he "didn't have time" to even offer Tyler Toffoli a contract extension. Still annoyed at that.

They're gonna lose him to Seattle if they don't move him. Also unless Seattle takes Motte, Holtby is the best option.

Holtby isn't any teams best option.

I think Benning and Green should both be canned, this team is not close to being a contender. Last year's bubble success was a total mirage.

Agreed. As you can tell I am not a big Benning fan. He has made a couple decent trades and draft picks, but has buried this team in bad contracts

          JB yes.
          Not Green.

Last year they had ANA, LA, SJ pylons to go round.

True but still the team just isn't really good and the system doesn't fit the players and that is coaching.

Green's been given a boat-anchor by Jim and chucked full-on into the deep end of the pool...
This squad is just not that good - it's not rocket science.
Their just not that good and haven't TRULY been for a while.

Green's been given a boat-anchor by Jim and chucked full-on into the deep end of the pool...
This squad is just not that good - it's not rocket science.
Their just not that good and haven't TRULY been for a while.

I agree completely, however, I don't see Green getting the most out of the roster either. No changing the schemes or trying new things, just stick to the gameplan regardless of if it is working or not. Babcock was the same way, stubborn and immoveable and it got him fired. Both Green and Benning should go.

          Babs had 5Y w/ TO & TG is @ 3Y & 15 gms w/ Van.

Canucks organization throws sh*t at the wall every year and then get their knickers in a knot when it sticks & makes a mess!

Bringing in the best coach on the planet not already employed will not change this construct of misfits, lazy under-achievers and overpaid bench-warmers one bit.

          "hashtag" #Lottery bound!!

PS: Canucks record as a win % are now 4th from the BOTTOM of the NHL................................

You can’t unload your whole roster to clear cap space. There isn’t that much space on other teams.

I moved 3 roster players if you don't count Seattle which is extremely doable

Thats for sure. Benning screws over everyone and then lets them take the fall for his crap. He has to have to the worst free agency record of any NHL GM from the last 5 years.
