I definitely agree about that Georgiev take but I don’t see a role for him in New York once his bridge deal ends. However, I believe at the earliest he gets moved over the offseason as opposed to the trade deadline. We’ll see what happens with Graves the rest of the season but it’s way too early to even consider that conclusion, let alone jump to it.
The best time for Rangers to trade Georgiev might be right after the ExD. The UFA goalie market this year sucks (only Grubauer and Andersen are notables, and I think at least Grubauer resigns), and there will be teams who lost their 2nd goalie to Seattle who will need a replacement. There will also be teams who want two good goalies who chose to wait until after the ExD to acquire one for obvious reasons.
That said, this Rangers team aren't making the playoffs so you might as well make a trade if you can get better for 2022-2025.
