Sceviour doesn't have negative value. He'd a RD kind of guy. He's on a 1 year day and that cap hit is 0 when sent down to the AHL. So he doesn't really have a "negative" value.
The same might be said about Ceci. 1 year deal, almost all of that cap hit is AHL swallowed.
That Matheson contract though, that might be a problem.

Yup. I’ll admit I was wrong about Tanev. I thought that contract would be a problem but as of yet he’s been better than advertised. His contract will eventually suck but pens will be rebuilding by then. Matheson is really our only troublesome contract

best they can probably do is dump it on seattle for the cost of a 2nd maybe a B prospect. They don't really have a 1st to offer. 2022 1st is not something they should part with and anything after that is a gamble.

I don't know, at this point it looks like they lost that trade. Because Horny was an easier contract to move to seattle I think. And horny is racking up points for now. But 2 years over 5 is a huge difference.
All to save 425k. Kind of a huge mistake at this point. As that contract is gonna be hard to move if he can't turn it around.

Guentzel was a toughy. I think they could move him if they feel they are getting an amazing offer but I think it is incredibly unlikely. As for Sceviour and Ceci, I dont believe the cap for ahl would be 0 but would be minimal. I put them in negative because they are likely not claimed on waivers if they were put on waivers.

I don't know on the waivers. It depends on the injuries around the league. Especially on defense. Neither guy is carried forward. So it's a fill in role for injury if teams have long term issues. Now forwards are a little more easily filled but defense, you never know.
