They have 3 guys on LTIR. Kucherov, Nilsson, and Gaborik. Once Tampa reaches the upper limit of the cap ($81.5M) those contracts act as a pool that they're allowed to go over that much. Hence the $97M cap hit

Yeah, fair enough lol. I kinda want to backtrack by saying that the title wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously, but that’s a coward’s way out. Thanks for the knowledge! smile

The funny thing is this team could be significantly better if he picked better contracts, IE Drasaitl over mcdavid, or pastranak over tarasenko
