Changes for more hustle and speed. The Avs need a lot less passiveness. This also gives us some cap room for the deadline

What are you doing? I didn't know the Avs are holding an expansion draft as well. Basically just picking good players out of now where and giving back absolutely nothing.

Why would the Jackets want a 3rd line C (at best), and depending on where the Avs rank the 1st might be more doable. But for Atkinson? Who is a very good and underappreciated player, would have to offer up better quality players than that.

This Arvidsson trade is one of the worst I've ever seen (almost as bad as the Forsberg for Erat trade). You're giving the Avs a good player (as of right now) and who has potential to be a high-scoring player for two 30-something-year-old players that are at max 3rd line players (Comeau is pretty versatile so he's a 6F at BEST). Makes absolute zero sense.

Okay, maybe I understand the Arvidsson deal, but a first round pick carries a lot of worth. Plus at the end of the season the Blue jackets need to sign Wennberg and Anderson for next year and with their cap space they can't afford both. This is why I'm giving them a player with a lesser salary and A FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK because obviously CBJ would only have to pay the ELC at most if they decide to sign the player they draft. It allows them to afford Wennberg, Anderson, Colborne and receive another good young player from the draft

So, you're generously helping us out with our cap problems by giving us a much worse player who gets paid only a million dollars less, thereby... not really helping us at all?

    Gee, thanks.

That Jackets trade is so bad. Atkinson is fine. We are set to lose either Johnson or Calvert via the Expansion draft. We easily get them resigned. Plus, with the relief of Clarkson, we essentially sit right now 5 mil below the cap. Keep dreaming.

You can't just dump the Avs problems onto other teams.

Bc the Jackets dont appreciate him in the past, since they have been open to moving him for a while now, as the Avs have been talking about him for 2 seasons now. So slow your roll buddy, stop raging and chill out.

They arent great trades but Atkinson was almost an Avalanche once, so im sure they will be barking up that tree again

coga16 Atkinson is not going anywhere. The Jackets are finally playing like the team us CBJ fans knew they could be. Do you seriously think we are going to mess with the chemistry? No.

probably not not, but they have actively tried to move him last year. CBJ scouts were at Avs AHL team for multiple games before the deadline. They were looking at Bigras. It was close to being a deal bw the 2 clubs, and with McFarland as the Avs Assistant GM, you know he will be back to talkign to the Jackets again.

Avs will call again about him, they have clear interest in him

I never said that they can't and won't go for Atkinson but that trade that he put up was straight trash.

I dont think its straight trash, the value is in the 1st rounder. And lets be honest a 1st is always worth a ton especially heading closer to the draft. Its not diserable for CBJ but thats a standard trade package that you see teams offer for Top 6 fwds all the time. High Pick, Roster player. The player isnt great in Colborne but its not a trash offer. Cam isnt a top tier 1st line winger. He is a 2nd line winger, so hes not getting mega returns for him

yeah he isn't first line winger but make no mistake that a 1st and Colborne does not get you Atkinson.

I dont think it get Atkinson, bc of his contract value, but a 1st/Colborne would get a 2nd line Winger that a team is trying to purge out
