As much as I hate these past leafs without Tavares this is different because that's not the main point of this. This team is very very good. Hindsight is 2020 I guess.

I understand most of this with undoing trades, and re-doing draft picks, but how does that boston trade work?

Basically Nylander for 2nd and 1st.
Boston made three selections already so the 37th overall wasn't that valuable for them.
Nylander played with Pastrnak in Sweden.

B’s would not have done that. They had 6 picks in the top 52 in 2015. They tried to package multiple picks to move up for Hanifin/Werenski/Provorov. The 2016 1st was never on the table though. Nice try, but never would have happened. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mac was their primary target in that draft and somehow fell to them at 14. Never would have moved that pick. Even if they did, they would not have included Carlo. Toronto is not making that trade at the 2015 draft. And Boston does not at the 2016.

They would have given up 2 1sts in 2015 to move up. You could have moved down and had access to Barzal/Conner/Chabot with those 2 picks. But you lose out on Marner.

I would love to see Mikheyev with Aho and TT... on the Canes of course.
