Matheson-Ceci lmao you can’t do that

Unlike last year where J.Johnson/Shultz still played 15-20 minutes a game. It was crazy!! We will see what Sully does but they should only be playing 8-14 minutes a game.

And Matheson still is only 26. Still young, and Fast. And I’m sure FLA Panthers, misused him alot too.Toronto definitely misused Ceci. Trying to have him be a top Pairing and play 20 minutes a night. They both should get sheltered minutes. And it’s a Ruthwedel/Ceci platoon right now, from what was said. But we’ll see. J.Maniacalco could win that RHD. I think Matheson will have that LHD spot though. It’s very unlikely PO-Joseph wins the 3rd pairing LHD spot. Just b/c of Matheson salary and the Pens traded Hornqvist for him.

Exactly what I think. I see the 3rd line as the only problem with this team. With a good 3C like Haula and good performance from Jarry, this team as a really good shot at the cup. But I don't think GMJR will look for a 3C wich is a big problem for me. I think this team has a 2 years window (because of contracts) and GMJR should not slow down.

as long as there are no injuries we can make this work but if we lose a guy like Dumo or Letang again, we are screwed. But every other team is in the same boat.
They have to realize if they aren't going to play Maniscalco if there is an injury he has to come play 2nd pairing minutes and leave Ceci in the 3rd pairing role.
We just can't have more bad coaching decisions like JJ promoted to 1LD.

My biggest worry about this team is the slow start. They always start slow, it's like they can't get it together and get in gear. Part of that is on the coach. They need to figure this out because a slow start and they might be out depending on the playoff format. By game 20-30 the division could be set. If they waste 10 games or so, they might not be able to climb out. Especially if a team like washington who starts hot gets out in front. They will pull that lead out over the first 40 games like they always do. People have been writing them off, I bet they finish 1st place in what ever division they are in. Just because of how they start.
