Why do you think Mrazek goes from making 3mil to that? He's posted a .914 and .905 save % the last two years and a terrible UFA class for goalies.

Well, him and Mrazek can split the starting duties (that's why I signed him). I think after getting drafted 11th overall, and posting a .928 save% in 2018-19, he has potential to be a starter. Obviously, there are a lot of unknowns here.

Also, I had some kings fans on this site tell me that Campbell should be the leafs starter.

2.5 for Mrazek might be a bit steep, but who knows. He can be replaced by another goalie making 2.5.
Petan on the 4th line? It's going to happen if Dubas stays gm. He loves his small forwards (not necisarily bad, but you have to have both big and small players).

And then next year, Rielly will be making 7-8 mil, do you see the cap space for that? There is so many questions with this team next year. Sure would be nice to have an extra 11mil somewhere. I think if the leafs resign Rielly, they will trade one of Nylander or Marner. But as you said, this stupid virus is the thing to blame for the lack of cap space. This is not unique to the leafs. They are not the worst team cap wise.

Well, look at it this way. Is Tavares better than the guy the leafs have lost so far? Yes. Is Tavares and Rielly better than Marner or Nylander? Yes. Is Tavares better than Rielly? I'd have to say yes but they are hard to compare with Rielly being a defenceman. So, in conclusion, it doesn't really matter who the leafs lost if they gained better players in the process.

Will never say Tavares is not worth his money or discredit his talent. Without a doupt a generational talent. My issue was we already had a generational talent Center in Matthews to build around. JT was not needed. That's it
