Straight up 1 for 1
Basically like the Hall-Larson trade but lesser talents
Hall>JVR
Larsson>Tanev

Vancouver has been saying they want to add a 20 goal scorer to their roster. Well that doesn't come cheap. JVR is a solid 20 potential 30 goal scorer and with the acquisition of Gudbranson in the offseason I think Vancouver could part with Tanev if they got an offer they liked.

Either trade polak or send down Corrado
If leivo or greening aren't cutting it maybe explore trading for hartnell (maybe polak and something else). I'm sure Columbus would like to get rid of one of their NMC players to help them out come Expansion draft time

Do you really think the Canucks who should be in the rebuild mode. would trade Tanev who is a UFA 2020 for JVR who is a UFA in 2018?

This isn't my thought process this is managements. Yes I personally think it's best that they fully rebuild, however with the Sedins likely not going anywhere management thinks differently. I'm not saying they need a 20 goal scorer, THEY ARE. Just cuz they are stuck in a bad position of how to move forward with their team, doesn't mean we can't take advantage of that. The Canucks think they can make the playoffs this year...

1st line LW for top pairing D isn't a blockbuster? Sounds pretty big to me. I think what Benning is saying there is that if he trades Tanev it's got to be for a legitiment quality player, not a bunch of scrubs and picks

Forget the contracts...It's still an iffy trade for Vanouver even if they were a "mid pack" team. And janesvanhockey: Never, Never believe what a hockey executive says publicly about trades before they happen and even after the trade, he may not be telling the truth either.
