You're saying we take on $8,575,000 in cap hit while retaining $666,667 of Brodin's $4,166,667 AND give up a first round pick? Not a chance. Before we had injury issues, we had just under 1 million in cap space. You're suggesting $5,075,000 in net cap gain for Minnesota that isn't there. Ignoring the obvious idiocy of this deal from a cap standpoint, we don't really want to give up Brodin, wouldn't give up a 1st, and sure as **** wouldn't want Franson.
