This trade is laughable at best. Hertl is twice the player Johansen is.

It's a terrible trade for SJ, no question. I wouldn't consider Hertl to have one of the best contracts in the league though. He had a great season two years ago, but that was an outlier compared to the rest of his career to date.

He has injury issues that hurt his point and game totals. Hes top 10 in possession in the league.

Injury issues are just part and parcel of a player's overall value though. Don't get me wrong, Hertl has a very team friendly contract. I can't consider it one of the best in the league, when it wouldn't even be one of the best on this Preds team.
