Description
This maybe be a little incorrect, I may have missvaluded some players because I don’t watch the Oilers every night. But I did watch them in the return and they were fascinating to me, so lemme know what you think below....

These are possible, but I think its a bit more action than is necessary and makes the Oil no better, perhaps even less dynamic as an outcome. I think the only goal will be to ship out Chiasson for a late pick if there is any interest, so there is some wiggle room to sign Bear and perhaps a PTO depth D man. Vatanen and Barrie are too similar, with Barrie the superior version, so no need for that add at that price. The 4C position being held by Haas/Khaira in combination is fine IMO to start the season.

If management sees a different 4C as needed, they can always bring back Sheahan for probably 850k or so. But I think that position is the least of their worries.

That’s a huge no the Rask trade the wild are stuck with that contract plus Edmonton don’t need another centre
Edmonton would be looking to sign more of a shut down D then adding another one dimensional player like Vatanen

You forgot to sign Bear

Kassian might be overpaid but he’s not going no where he provides a element no one in the forward group can provide

I agree, I forgot about Bear so Vatanen would not be necessary if Bear was signed. Also what do you think Bear gets?

Bear will get some where between 1.5 to 1.75 on a 2 yr bridge deal he’s a first yr pro and has zero leverage and with all the bargain deals being signed around the league his agent doesn’t have any ammo to play hard ball with if the oilers really wanted to pinch him for every penny they could offer a one yr deal at around 1.25 and they might need to do that to make the cap work if Klefbom can come back before playoff time.

Don't see the Rask trade at all, they want to get rid of a contract in case klef i ready to play by January-march, the initial recovery time was 4 months. Also the the top 2 centers in McD and Drai play 22+mins a game, Turris is a very good 3rd center, I dont see the oilers spending 3mill for a 4th center to play 8-10mins max. If they dont think Khaira or Haas fit the bill they can still try to get Sheahan for his PK ability.

I don’t see Klefbom coming back this yr when you think about it he’s been rehabbing for close to 7 months already minus the 3 weeks for the return to play with no improvement at this point there’s more questions if his career is over then if he’ll be back this yr.

I agree it's a long shot for him to come back this year but I can't agree about this being a possible career ender. He's been able to play through the injury, it's just a nagging issue that of he were to get surgery it may fix the issue entirely. Not to mention I'm not sure I've heard very many sources report it as career ending. I have heard chatter but nothing more then media maybe once. Nothing internal. I've also heard he may not get surgery at all.

Just like we heard McDavid was fine, injury wasn’t very serious then the special came out and shocked the hockey world, Edmonton is playing this one to close to the chest again, ya he’s played though it before just like he did in the return to play and was brutal makes perfect sense his shot blocks were so high this yr as he wasn’t able to engage anyone physical with one bad arm and his plus minus was brutal also this yr, Klefbom as never been a shot blocker in his career, like I said he’s been rehabbing it for seven months now if surgery was the best option it would have happened right after Edmonton got knock out of the play in round, I hope I’m wrong but this is more serious then what we’re being told.
