No reason to trade Chiasson IMO. He was one of the Oilers' best bottom-6 guys last year and he's an asset on the PP.

Lots of teams need LD, and in your case it looks like second pairing. Depending on how he does, would you guys entertain Travis Dermott mid-season???

If he does well, and flourishes, i could see him being sold for a third. If theres no improvement, maybe a few late picks.

From EDM, I'd ask for ennis as a start. Could be balanced with picks...

It's not like the Oilers are hurting for young D, if Jones steps up this year we are sitting pretty-ish. Would also depend on how impactful Ennis is this year. He's on a nice bargian1 mil deal. He had Chem with out top guys. He put up surprisingly good numbers last year. With Turris in the fold I wouldn't be surprised if he could play any wing position on any top 9 line and play well. Plus he's from EDM. I think teams will have a hard time getting Ennis from the Oilers. Sorry for the long winded explanation.

It's hard to know what Leafs are looking for. They are trading or want to trade bottom 6 players so probably nothing there. They don't need top 6 players. If anything you would probably want a cheaper D prospect who they can save a few bucks off of and buy a few years to work out the cap and roster situation.

Only a PP asset in the sense his release from the slot is quite good, otherwise a mediocre PP scorer, both RNH and Neal are quite good at that so why bother

They could use the cap space to sign Kovalchuk too

Could decline anytime now due to his age as well

No need to add any more dman. The media makes too big of a deal to have the lefties play left ect. They'r pro players they can make it work both sides.. Bouchard is gonna make the roster, this could push someone like Larsson to the left side.

Chiasson is an excellent not-front guy, despite having lower scoring rates than Neal the PP was about 50% more efficient with Chiasson than it was with Neal. RNH plays a completely different position, he's not a comp at all.

They have the cap space to sign Kovlachuk now, without trading Chiasson. And it's a little strange that you're worried about 30-year-old Chiasson declining in the last year of his contract but you want to trade him and sign 37-year-old Kovalchuk...
