Description
Morrissey has played well in his first month in the NHL. This takes huge pressure off Chevy to ensure that he gets a top LHD back for Trouba.

Buff-Morrissey and Myers-Enstrom are a better than average top 4. If the Jets can upgrade their third pairing from Chariot-Postma they would be better positioned to deal with injuries on the back end.

Long term the Jets look great on the left side with Laine, Ehlers, Connor, Lemieux, Matthias, and Tanev. Up the middle, they have loads of options with Scheifele, Little, Perreault, Lowry, Roslovic, Petan, Burmistrov... My concern is with right wing. Wheeler is a lock and Armia and Dano have solid potential. Beyond that, it is a fair drop off to Lipon and Kosmachuk.

It seems obvious at this point that no team is willing to part with a blue chip defender to land Trouba (who still comes with Overhardt to deal with). I also don't believe that Trouba will successfully rejoin his teammates and happily play on the left side biding his time until a trade arises. Cancer for the team.

By adding a RW regular in Tatar for today and adding a RW prospect in Mantha, the Jets can address another position of long term need and see what happens in free agency this summer for another piece on defence.

Too much from DET. Mantha + Smith for Trouba? Not what WPG wants but that value is fine.

Not to shabby, Might be a little overpayment but Trouba would be worth it to bring him home to Detroit. Tatar+Smith opens up about $5.5 million to sign Trouba long term. And Mantha would just be the sweetener.

I see Copp and Mantha being a wash. As Copp and Trouba played together and are close from their Wolverine days, I thought it would help the trade. Tatar and Smith for Trouba is a better deal for Detroit than the market rate established by the Larsson and Jones trades.

No young Dman prospects in the system? Is deal with Philly a fit? If it's a belief that the Trouba is 5.25m good....A trade for the overpaid LHD and "some" of the Philly prospects....Provorov, Sainheim, Morin, Hagg.

Love the look of the lineup presented. Six solid d and four quality lines once everyone is healthy. Some serviceable backups in all positions.

Stanley and Poolman are good prospects but will need years to be ready for NHL duty. There are a few teams that have a nice stockpile of defensive prospects but could use better forwards; Anaheim, Philly, Minny and Nashville come to mind. Once expansion is done and the question marks removed, the jets could swing a prospect for prospect move with one of those teams.

Only in winnipeg are stanley and poolman good prospects. Jets best dmen prospects are Niku and Green. Not even really that close. Stanley within a week could be on the spitfires bottom pair.

I went back through your comments juniorgm and actually found that you liked a post back on October 24th. And here I was of the mistaken impression that you only posted negativity about everyone else's fun hobby.

Fun hobbies should make sense. People should learn the game and how to filter through actual results. But hey Stanley is big. wink
