Chicago easily passes on the Buffalo trade; Risto is a cap dump as far as the Hawks are concerned and Mittlestadt likely isn't more then a 3rd line C or at best 2nd line supporting winger. Kane is worth way more then a 1st and Johsson. Buffalo would need to add Cozens to entice moving Kane and Chicago retains $2M. That said, Kane isn't waiving IMO.
Also passes on the Boston and Tampa trades. The boston trade is (2) late 2nd rounders, Keith is worth more. Regarding Tampa, this is a soft rebuild, meaning they are looking to compete in 2 to 3 seasons, therefore, while you are moving cap out in other moves, you are simply locking it back up for the next 4 years in the Tampa trade for Johnsson and a late 1st rounder is not nearly enough to take on Johnson.
