Half retained I think vegas has to add another solid piece. This is a good deal if hawks retained like 2 mil. Definitely one of the better toews trades I've seen on here though

If I’m being honest, I don’t think this deal requires anything else from Vegas. That’s two firsts (granted late ones), a 2nd, Tuch who is a very good player on a great contract, and Krebs who’s a very good prospect... and Mcnabb who is whatever.

I get that we are retaining on Toews but realistically at this point in his career he is worth like 8.5M max so it’s a good deal for Vegas but still. Also, no cap dump included makes a massive difference.

Only reason I'd want another first is cus they're so late. But realistically the hawks would never retain half on toes. Even more realistic, toews won't be traded.

Honestly i think they should trade Toews and Kane right now for as much as they can get. And then when they start competing again in 3 years, just resign them. It’ll help us rebuild faster and more efficiently because we will be a lottery team

I would never trade toews and kane unless they forced my hand. I'm firmly on the side of they brought the franchise back from the dead. Their #'s will be in the rafters, their statues at the stadium, and I don't ever want to see their name on the back of any other teams jersey. I hope they spend their careers as hawks even if it means being bad until they're retired
