Comfortable first becuase of trade options: If Klef can play healthy again, Jones should be a capable 2LD at this point, and Broberg and Samorukov should be really ready to be solid 3LD options. We would be able to trade off Nurse for top 6 fwd help for another player with 1 or 2 years left on a deal.

But if Klef is out forever, then we can probably afford whatever price Nurse has played himself to. If he's asking 8M, he will be a legit top pair Dman, and with all his flaws, worth it since we'll have really good LD behind him. If we don't want to pay him 8M, there is bound to be pretty good UFA Dman out there to replace him imo.

Yeah right now. I'm just saying it all depends on his next two years of performance at the 5.6M number as the starting point. If he stays the same player, he's not getting 8M from Holland, and we move on if he does. That's fine.
