Everyone else is not getting what you got. Idk what experience you have in financial law but it seems to be lacking

Lol..I’m not doing This I swear. Put it into the the “buy-out” calculator and tell me what everyone else is getting..lol.I got 4.832M for Ladd. For 3 years. The 1.832M on his buyout PLUS the 3M owed signing bonus. After 3 years, it will fall down cause no singing bonus owed. I don’t know, I didn’t do it year by year. But after 3 years. It should be drastically lower. But for 3 Years it will be 4.83M. I promise.

....are... are you assuming the cap hit is the salary owed?

Come on man. No. It’s right. Promise. Put it in the “buy-out calculator” same number I said was wrong b4 b/c I wasn’t adding in the singing bonus. That I had no clue was still due and pro-rated at 3M/yr over the next 3 years. It’s 4.83M, for 3 years until his signing bonus is paid off, then it will drastically fall. It’s fu**ing right. I’m really about to throw a temper tantrum now..lol.wtf.

I’m not doing this again..lol. But I’m sorry, your math is wrong. Mine is right.

Ladd makes 5.5M for 3 remaining yrs. that’s 5.5M x 2/3 =3.663M x 3=10.989M still owed. pro-rate that number out to 6 years and it’s 10.989M/6= 1.832M. Add the 3M signing bonus. You get 4.832M(give or take b/c for 2/3 I’m just multiplying by .67 instead of .66666667).

The same number you get putting it into the buy-out calculator. The same number he was getting back and I disagreed with b/c I didn’t know about the signing bonus due. But my math is right. Go back and look at it too. Just add in the signing bonus and it’s right.

I got 1.832M for Ladd. Plus the 3M = 4.832M(again give or take cause I’m using .67(2/3) istead of the full .66666667).

These are the buyout rules

1) Multiply the remaining salary (excluding signing bonuses) by the buyout amount (as determined by age) to obtain the total buyout cost
2) Spread the total buyout cost evenly over twice the remaining contract years
3) Determine the savings by subtracting the annual buyout cost from Step 2. by the players salary (excluding signing bonuses)
4) Determine the remaining caphit by subtracting the savings from Step 3. by the players Annual Average Salary (AAV) (including signing bonuses)

In step 1, it states, "Multiply the remaining salary (excluding signing bonuses) by the buyout amount (as determined by age) to obtain the total buyout cost"

that number, plus the excluded bonus money, is what's paid. You can't buyout signing bonus money. If you want to believe you're right, have at it, the earth is not flat, I'm telling you...

4.832M for 3 years. Again. Holy s**t last time, 1.832M PLUS the signing bonus owed for 3years at 3M per year. It’s 4.832M. Same number as everyone else and same number as every “buy-out calculator” the buy-out calculators have the signing bonus figured in too. Is that the problem u are having?

Or that it’s not the exact same number. The buy-out calculators and everyone else got and says $4,833,333. Yes, my, 4.832M is rounded. I was using .67 as 2/3 and not the full .6666667. So yes, it’s rounded. Just like the Earth, round, not Flat. Thanks though. I seen the videos, pretty crazy, those people are worse than me at Math.

As long as you get here;

$15,499,998 to be paid to Ladd

of which $3MM has already been paid, it's all good.

The total savings for buying out the contract is, $1,000,000

Edit: that $15,499,998 is cut and paste from CapFriendly, it's rounded because of the previous rounded, it's actually $15,500,000

Yes, both are correct. I see now that they are owed a signing bonus. Nowhere does it say they are still owed their singing bonuses? But it is right if the Islanders would have paid the signing bonus upfront instead of pro-rating it..lol

Andrew Ladd is still owed 9M on f-ing singing bonus. 3M/yr for 3 more years.

My math is 100% right(minus the signing bonuses, so 99% right).

This is the post I missed, where you admit your numbers were wrong, my apologies for not seeing this earlier. Of course I wouldn't say 99% right, since you were off by $6MM, lol.

Lol, the math is right. But yes, I was wrong and u were right. I had no clue they pro-rated the signing bonus for 3 more years at 3M per yr. I did read that in the rules for buy-outs and was aware of it and would have added it in; but I just wasn’t aware he was owed it. Or the other two still had signing bonus’s unpaid too. What are the Islanders doing..?? That’s why I got Jack Johnson right cause his signing bonus is paid.

I can’t see anyone taking Boychuk. At 37 years old and being 6’2 and 230-240 pounds now. He has to be slowing down and a liability on the Ice. And at 2 more years(till 39 years old) at 6M per year. Ouch. Not even if you add assets or draft picks will a team take that on. The only way to get the money off your cap completely is putting him on LTIR.

Putting all 3 players on LTIR instead of burying their contracts in the minors.

Gives you 23.4M cap space(lol) if you put all 3 on LTIR.
