Putting Mitch Marner and Brady Tkachuk on the same line would be insanely good.
Standard package for a good player is, a roster player, a prospect, and a draft pick. how good the player is decides the specific pieces, Marner is pretty good.
Nikita Zaitsev is the roster player, but he's not adding the necessary value here, and Toronto knows his value as much as Ottawa does.
Josh Norris is a good prospect, is NHL ready, and has 2 years of ELC left, which is huge for Toronto's cap.
1st round pick is a good pick.
I don't understand the flipped 3rds, I know they're different years, but if you need to add more, it has to be in the first three pieces, not more pieces.
I'm going to assume Zaitsev was included to balance the cap hit Marner brings in, but also to get rid of him. You can't unload players in a trade like this. You'll need to include a better roster player instead of Zaitsev, I'm assuming this is an Ottawa fan generated trade idea. Marner is a right shot winger, Toronto would need to replace Marner's offence, or at least some of it. I would think that Dadonov would need to be included.
I'd suggest
Dadonov
Norris
2021 1st
for
Marner
Now having stated that, I don't think this trade would happen, this is just musing.
