This is not true. In no world does Minnesota need to trade Hartman @50% retained for Kerfoot. That would leave us with $150k in cap space, no room for Marco Rossi who pretty much everyone believes will be on the team this year, and it leaves no room for bonus overages for Kaprizov (and Rossi, if signed). I don't know why so many Leafs AGMs think we're dying for Kerfoot. I'd wager that in the same number of games, in his rookie year, Rossi could match Kerfoot's production from last season for roughly a quarter of the cap hit (before bonuses).
