Looks about right, but I'd hope that Hoglander gets a long look at training camp (ideally wins the 3LW spot?) and I think it would be more worthwhile to send a pick to a team to dump Sutter or Baertschi (or most ideally Eriksson) rather than buy them out. The extra $1.17m cap charge in 2021/22 for the buyout isn't a lot, but with the big extensions the Canucks have to give out every penny will count.

Agree about 21/22. Benning's ill fated trade for Toffoli made things worse because they spent some of their future for a short-term gain. Would prefer they keep their picks and prospects.

But Benning has put himself in a bad spot. He really needs Ferland on LTIR or to be the player he envisioned him to be.

Agree on Ferly. Anywhere in the middle of those two options is a terrible spot. I'd love it if the extra time off got him back to full health again; he'd be a great addition to a playoff team if he's at 100%.

There is a second buyout window after the arbitration hearings coming up. But this will only be used as a last resort. If Jim can move out Roussel or Sven thatd be hugeee.
