Taking Boychuk back at full freight might make a difference. But Pulock just went to arbitration. If he doesn't sign before his meeting his next deal shouldn't be much higher than Severson's approx $4.2m cap hit. So this doesn't feel like enough for NYI to budge

Pulock + Boychuk isn't going to get a top-6 winger. Pulock would, but Boychuk's negative value is significant enough that teams wouldn't give much of anything.

They can bury boychuk in the AHL and trade/buyout other players than. The isles will not use their #1D to dump a contract.
