Description
Definitely solidifies the D but does nothing on Forward. Have to hop that Kase pans out. He showed signs of being good in the playoffs but dang, he just could not score.

I’d move him to top line and Pasta back with Krejci. Kase looked really good on the first line and both Marchy and Bergy can score.

Makes sense to me.

Oilers are letting anthanaiou walk. He’s not UFA yet but the offer sheet would be what I offer him once he’s UFA.

may be a Kase type player but it would give the Bs another trade piece in him or Kase to make some other moves.

Don’t have to play Senyshyn for another year if we don’t move Kase, giving 2 options for 2/3Rw

Seriously?

No, they don’t.

Bolts have options, don’t need to do something dumb.

Zona does not have options. Still not taking Moore, retaining, and not getting a 1st.

Guess you missed the memo that Holland isn't qualifying Andreas Athanasiou, So he's a pending UFA therefore can't be offer sheeted. Grzelcyk doesn't get you Sergachev and for 4x5 he stays in Tampa. Moore is a cap dump to Arizona and Vaakanainen+2nd isn't enough to get $14 million retention on Oliver Ekman-Larsson not even close.

Guess you didn’t read the notes. Exactly what I said about AA. No compensation required at that rate so I can make the UFA signing as if it were an offer sheet.

Grze is a 2nd pair, man the power play, and cost friendly. Sergachev is never going to play #1 D with Hedman in front of him. He doesn’t have arbitration rights so a bridge deal will get him signed. Maybe the term goes to 3yrs.

AZ needs to shed salary and they basically shed $4M for 3 years and the. $6M in the fine 4 years of his contract. Exactly what AZ would want.

Seriously?

I don’t see a team helping the cup champs out. Who wants Killorn to help Tampa dominate for another 5years.

Everyone else has NMC or No-trades on Tampa. What options are you talking about?

It’s not like they are losing much in that deal. Grze can run the PP, amazing skater and puck mover, and will cost half of what Sergey does. I’d say it’s pretty much exactly what Tampa needs right now. Hedman is #1 and Sergey will never take that over. Grze knows his place and will replace Shatty when they let him walk.

Not helping another team is a fan myth. GMs are only concerned about making their own team better. If they have the option of moving player out of division and getting same quality return...sure. Otherwise not an issue.

This is not helping TB anyway.

Options, as in if they decide to move HIM there will be teams lined up to give them a 1st and a mediocre cheap d man to replace him. Including half the teams in the division.

You’re right Montreal is going to offer a 1st for everyone on the market and get everyone.

Why would you trade a 2nd pair D for a nothing D?

You’re really good at this.

Cap space. Same reason you are trying to make this trade. They have 5m of it and have Cirelli, Sergachev, Cernak to sign. Maroon, Shatty, Rutta, Schenn, Bogosian to replace. They have to make a sacrifice somewhere. If it’s Sergachev and they can get a 1st, a prospect, and Brett Kulak type to eat some minutes cheap, as opposed to a lesser d man that will cost almost as much Sergachev on a bridge deal. Math.

I am, thanks.

All the talk is Sergachev getting $5M AAV on a bridge. Grze will be closer to $3M, and he’s one of the best skating and puck moving Ds around. Arguably better than McAvoy right now in those regards. Yah, he’s a bit small and he’s NOT McAvoy, but for Tampa. It makes good sense.

Ya, for Boston. Makes no sense for TB. They sell him for 50 cents on the dollar while clearing little cap space.

It’s also future. Sergachev is definitely going to be better than Grze Long term and cost way more. Tampa doesn’t need 2 #1 LDs. Maybe they get a better deal elsewhere but the rumors are Sergey is moving for that reason I just said.

We can hope. Maybe you have to sweeten the Grze package a little but I’m not going much further than maybe Zboril. Maybe a Clifton if they really push or a 3rd
