Description
Devils need a big winger Rangers need a skilled center...Maybe a little 2019 Draft redo?
Also I know Rossi won't be slotting in as an NHL 2nd line center this year, just showing that he fills the spot and makes the Hughes trade make sense for NJ

He has not. I am trying to educate you here a little...

Hughes and Lafreniere are both 2001s. They have played in many of the same competitions. In each one, Hughes far outplayed Laf.

Because of the birth cutoff for NHL, Hughes went, Laf stayed in junior hockey.

One cannot compare the NHL to the Q. Miles apart. Men in former, boys in latter.

Ur a real funny kid saying Hughes is better than Laf. Ask any draft analyst who would you take laf or Hughes. 100% of them would say laf buddy so case and point

Laf will be better, laf has been the best prospect in the draft since McDavid. Not just my opinion, it’s also Elliott Friedman’s and bob mckenzies

Buddy legit every draft analysis guy has said he would be by far the 1st oa

When have the two played in like-for-like competitions? And how did they do?

What do scouts say? (ignore people paid to generate clicks and eyeballs in current moment).

The Canadian always gets preference with the Canadian media "rankers" .....going back to Turris > Kane in 2007 (even central scouting, although McKenzie switched by June)

Also.......I love how Rangers fans told everyone last year was a "toss-up" between Hughes and Kakko...."ignore the rankers, they are even"
(among the rankers, there was consensus, Hughes>Kakko).

Are you talking about people in media? Or actual scouts, players, hockey people?

Among scouts its about 50/50

We never even said ignore the rankers. If we are going by point shot overall play like you are with Hughes and laf. Who was better this season Hughes or Kakko?

They seem to keep responding without any actual argument other than "really kid Laf is better because thats what I think". I'd say you gave a very legit argument in favor of Hughes. That said, he certainly had an underwhelming rookie year and I wouldn't be suprised in Lafreinerre, who is bigger and a winger, puts up better numbers this year. But to say that he is significantly better than Jack heading into their respective drafts is extremely biased.

"Bacuz he's bettur"...lol, then they disappear.

Imagine the damage Hughes would have done in Q last year.

Laf did great. If Hughes had gone to play junior instead of NHL, he would have put up 2 ppg for Steelheads in his sleep.
