Malkin hates Jim Rutherford soooo it could happen. The cap hit would be about the same and this would inject some youth into Pitt and give the Rangers the best 2nd line center in the NHL whos still a stud!

Maybe Malkin wants out? He’s Rumored to hate Jim Rutherford and they just traded away his friend Hornquist so who knows ... also Rutherford is an idiot when it comes to trading so you never know

The Rangers really should be going for it while they have some good players on ELC's and Zibenejad is still cheap.

Yeah disagree there. Igor is absolute stud, and this team needs to tighten up their D and they could def compete. Also Malkin is a HoF center, one of the best in the NHL. the only reason hes a "2nd line center" is because the best player of his generation is in front of him. Malkin has only put up less than a PPG in one season, the lockout season. He will be a first ballot HoF and will probably continue to be awesome until hes 38+.
