Hawks aren't taking on Johnsson unless you pay us to do it. Murphy is worth a 1st all day long.

No they don't. If Coyotes get lowball offers for Kuemper they simply keep him. That's like saying "Other teams want Nathan McKinnon. Avs better trade him."

False, I'm saying it's rumored...aka...it's a rumor, but a very reasonable one....that they need to shed $10M in salary this year. If you want to get rid of cap dumps...then you need to lose assets. If you're willing to trade away players that other teams might want.....then you might be able to get something in return. trading away Darcy would be a good idea if Freddie came back. TOR would absolutely need to send additional pieces. I'd think Woll + Seymon would probably do it. But that's just because the goalie market in general is quite weak and money is a premium for teams right now...so despite Freddie playing poorly last year, teams will likely give him another chance.

There are a few things that you're missing. A.) No one wants Raanta. B.) AZ needs to shed salary C.) Freddie costs $1M where Darcy still has a total of $9M to be spent over the next 2 years. D.) It'll cost TOR in additional assets in order to get the better goalie. I can't express enough that no one wants Raanta.

You are wrong about all of this. Especially since he traded kuemper for kerfoot, not anderson.

Dude, you gotta read... I suggested that a different trade should include Darcy for Freddie with additional pieces. I never mentioned Kerfoot once. AND I'm not wrong about any of this.

So you comment on my comment about a specific trade, which is kuemper for kerfoot and a 3rd by making up a different trade that wasn't proposed and then tell me I'm wrong.

False - I did not comment on your comment about Kuemper for Kerfoot. I'm replying to you initiating a discussion with me regarding my trade suggestion.

False. You're assuming Kuemper is on the trade market. Just because it makes sense to you doesn't mean it makes sense to the Coyotes GM. They don't have to trade Kuemper. Period. Opinion isn't fact.

True, opinion isn't fact. I was trying to suggest a different option that both teams might consider a win / win.

Big picture, this lineup has better defense and goaltending than the 19-20 leafs, more grit and skill in the bottom six forwards. The question is whether, when they get a full year playing with Matthews or Tavares, either of Mikheyev or Kassian can can produce the 50-60 points that Nylander is capable of. I'm guessing no, but they each get 40. With better defense and goaltending, that keeps the Leafs right where they are, in the standings.

Take LIljegren out of the Devils trade, at least. They'd probably give you Zacha and Severson for just Nylander. Could throw in more salary if you wanted. They have McLeod ready to try out at 3C, and have too much cash committed to a defense with too much offense and not enough defense, as is. Nylander gives them hope for the future and a roster spot to sign a UFA defensive defenseman, or develop one of the ones they have.

Appreciate it bro

He's not even that bad lol, don't forget he scored more than 40 points last year. I'm a hawks fan too, and I think he would slot in nicely with Saad, Strome, or Kubalik

Don't forget he did that playing next to Matthews and Marner and before his injury this season was on pace for only 15 goals. If you look at his advanced stats away from Matthews they are plain and simply bad with a xGF at 10. Understanding that, his cap hit is $3.4M and he's coming off a major knee injury that required surgery. Hockey players many times don't fully recover from major knee injuries. Just way too much risk.

Also, keep in mind our winger that are better; Kubalik, Saad, Debrincat and Kane. Shaw is likely playing so that leaves one space in the top 9 open and Johnsson would be blocking the development of Nylander, Suter or someone like Kurashev/Hagel that likely gets called up at some point. Johnsson is just a terrible acquisition for multiple reasons and a waste of cap space.
