First off, I believe Petro and the Blues will figure it out.

Second, if they don't, I don't think this could realistically happen anyway. Just having some fun dreaming.

But every other Leafs fan seems to be making a post and I felt obligated to join in.

Anyway, the goal was to sign Pietrangelo at a not-laughable rate, keep the big 4 together, and propose trades that, while they may not be accepted, don't make their fans violently vomit blood in rage.

I'm also not convinced Thornton would sign with the Leafs, or that Simmonds would take that much of a discount, but I was looking for some cost-effective veteran options. Plus they add a little (although admittedly not enough) sandpaper.

Let me know how I did.

And the idea on the third pairing is that the Leafs start with all of Sandin, Lehtonen, and Liljgren in the NHL. They all share games on a sheltered third pairing with Dermott (who will be playing on his offside 2/3 of the time). A month or two in, one of them (likely Sandin) will win the 6th spot and Leafs will make moves accordingly.
