Yeah but he is a defensive defenseman and won't put up big number. Now he is mature beyond his years, he doesn't get forced into making bad plays turnovers. He is basically a perfect 3rd pair defenseman and I bet he starts the season in Detroit and he is also expansion exempt freeing up a spot for Detroit protect another player. Still worthy of being a good starter in my opinion. He’s definitely not my first choice goalie, second choice goalie, or even third. But he is a decent starter who we probably won’t have to break the bank for.

Excited to see what Steve does leading up to the season. Definitely a lot of options.
