Explain to me how a cheap money wise deal and a first is a bad deal for OTT......

Two years of 6 mil cap, they’re getting literally less for the exact same situation CAR was in with TOR Marleau except here Ottawa gets more term and gets a pick which is likely high twenties considering Vancouver signs a couple of their guys they’re a lock for top of the Pacific

Better guys to take on like Bozak or steen or Okposo or Boychuk or Marc Staal

Eriksson is only owed 3.5 M real dollars next two years this deal would make too much sense for both sides

And minny.... they are getting a solid 4/5 defecneman in Stecher. a young centre who will play in their top six in couple seasons, and a potential top 6 RW with 20 plus goal potential in Virtanan..... don't think I'm that far off imo

We have cap room, nobody else does and most teams are cutting. The cost for moving Loui will be 1st+2nd or Demko+3rd for a 7th

Stecher is good, but Virtanan is being over valued here. Even his GM has been open about his disappointment in him and I didn’t watch Vancouver this playoffs and see a TOP6 guy in him. And Gaudette is once again good but more likely a 3C not a driving the play two C

lol it’s pretty simple math, 1 year of Marleau was a 1st, 2 years of Loui should be double that, not the same. That’s the price if you want rid of your bad deals

Yeah if anything it should be two 1sts plus lol. Marleau only would have cost Carolina 1.25mil if he played, and his buyout only cost 800k over 2 years. Paying 3.5mil money and 6mil cap hit for 2 years is significantly worse, 1st+2nd is probably a steal

It's time for Ottawa to stop trading for picks. Buying out Eriksson and Baertschi cost, after Van pays Eriksson's bonus, 3.666667 mil over 4 years and Baertschi 1.6 over 2 years. Minus whatever Ottawa has to pay towards Gaborik. Saves Van over 8 mil, 7.5 if they bury Baertschi. Get prospects.

If they sign Markstrom get DiPietro.
If they sign Tanev get Rathbone.
Get Kole Lind.
