Salary Cap Compliant V3

Créé par: Maceron
Équipe: 2020-21 Canucks de Vancouver
Date de création initiale: 15 sept. 2020
Publié: 15 sept. 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This 2020-21 Canucks roster is salary cap compliant and includes most of the club's UFAs and RFAs on ideal contracts. However, to be salary cap compliant the team can trade Jordie Benn, Brandon Sutter, and Troy Stetcher. The trades that are proposed are plausible, however Brandon Sutter has a modified-NTC that allows him to reject trades to 15 teams, which makes trading him more difficult.

Loui Eriksson and/or Antoine Roussel can be buried in the minors to receive a small amount of extra cap relief. If players who have been buried in the minors are recalled on an emergency basis, the Canucks can also gain additional cap relief on a temporary basis during the 2020-21 season.

To retain Chris Tanev, Tyler Toffoli, and Jacob Markstrom on ideal AAV and term, the Canucks will need to offer NMC and/or NTC to these players. This means that the Canucks will commit to keeping Markstrom over Demko in the expansion draft and can trade Demko to recoup picks in the 2020 draft, or to move out dead contracts.

Notes:
The Canucks have 5 notable UFAs that they can attempt to re-sign:
- Jacob Markstrom
- Tyler Toffoli
- Chris Tanev
- Josh Leivo
- Oscar Fantenburg

The Cancuks have 5 notable RFAs that they can attempt to re-sign:
- Jake Virtanen
- Troy Stetcher
- Adam Gaudette
- Tyler Motte
- Zach MacEwen

The Canucks will lose 1 of the following to the Seattle Kraken expansion draft at the end of the 2020-21 season:
- Thatcher Demko
- Troy Stetcher
- Tyler Motte
- Zack MacEwen
- Kole Lind

Potential Demko trade partners who have good RD prospects (A weakness for the Canucks prospect pool) that are exempt from the Seattle expansion draft:
- Carolina Hurricanes: Joey Keane
- Colorado Avalanche: Connor Timmins, Andrew Helleson
- Chicago Blackhawks: Ian Mitchell
- Minnesota Wild: Filip Johansson
- Ottawa Senators: Jacob Bernard-Docker, Lassi Thomson

Would a 3rd round pick be more palatable for Wings fans?

Conditional at best..nothing against stecher but he's kinda just decent not elite & we need kids to develop..just not a great fit..unless it's an elite skilled D or prospect

I don’t see many takers on any of your proposed deals, Colorado has already can out and said there not making any changes in net for next yr

The UFA you resigned look to be fair market value

He’s the deal look ahead till the following offseason he have only 13 players signed and a little over 22 mil in cap space, Pettersson and Hugh’s are going to take up 18 mil of that leaving u 4 mil to sign 7 players to give you a 22 man roster

And this yr all falls apart when Ferland his healthy enough to play leaving you - 3 mil cap wise.

I think the problem is more that the only position the Red Wings are solid at is RHD (Hronek, Seider, Lindstrom, Tuomisto, etc) so if we trade one of our higher picks (2nds/3rds) it will probably be for a position of need.

Detroit declines, What part of Detroit not needing RD do people not understand? Only piece from Vancouver Detroit wants right now is Thatcher Demko possibly Jake Virtanen that's it.

I think the canes would strongly consider that. Keane is a good rhd prospect that i wouldnt want to move but Demko is a great goalie prospect that can be a number 1

I didn't consider how many great RD prospects that the wings have! Stechter may not be a good fit then. How many of those guys do you think are going to be NHL ready in the next couple years?

That only works on players who signed their contract after they had turned age 35. Loui does not qualify.

Yea, if Ferland does not go on LTIR the Canucks are pretty ****ed. I think that would be the writing on the wall for Toffoli or Tanev

I was looking at Stetcher as a stop gap for the next 3 seasons or so.. Wings will need some defensemen who can play hard minutes (PK, D-Zone starts, and matchups) while their prospects develop. Stecher can be a serviceable top-4 guy and plays hard. Would be a good player to have alongside prospects. However, I definitely undervalued how many RD prospects the Wings have. How soon do you think some of them will be in the league?

Why would we be interested in Stetcher as a stop gap for the next 3 years? We're pretty much set with Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom on the right side. Seider is easily NHL ready now he'll be on the team from the sound of things that Yzerman said we need a few cheap ELCs on the team with the flat cap and all. We need more LD help then RD help.

What happens if any of those 3 struggle (Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom) during the season and need more time in the minors? Stetcher is a player that you know can play in the NHL and is solid defensively. You don't want to shoot a prospect's confidence in the foot if they aren't ready, especially if the Wings have another poor season. I don't think that Madison Bowey and Alex Biega can carry the defensive load on the right side. I understand that the prospects are great- and they are. But, no NHL coaching staff is going to want to run a defense core that young immediately.

He makes a point you still need quality NHL veterans to help a young group of d develop you can’t just throw then to the wolves for 82 games coaches and mores so gms like to have the option to have them sit and watch and practice at times or sending them down as there development is the most important part for the teams long term success, but no rebuilding team is giving up top 2rd draft picks, Stetcher isn’t anything close to a top 4D he’s a guy that play 3rd line mins on a Vancouver team that was defensively weak that should be moving on from Stetcher and Tanev and looking to upgrade at d then signing for forwards.

Hronek did well on the top pairing this season, and Lindstrom looked solid in his stint on the 3rd pairing. Seider is transitioning well to the North American ice, and will likely play for the Wings at some point next season. Between them and Biega as a 7th D, we're pretty covered. Detroit's not expecting to be anything less than terrible again, so there's little need to bring in somebody like Stetcher. Nothing against the guy, just not a short-term improvement we really need.
