Description
Rask retires and Krug walks....B's swing deal for Boeser as Nuks need to free up $. The cost hurts but change is in the air. Sweens signs cost effective tier 2 scorer Dadonov to bolster 2nd line with Krejci and Boeser. D gets some size and grit with Dillon while Markstrom helps form a formidable duo with Halak. Chara returns to 3rd pair and specialize in PK as his swan song tour comes to an end...

Lol. You underpay Markstrom/Dadonov significantly (they won’t sign those contracts) and overpay Chara who needs to retire. He’s a detriment on the ice.

What incentive do Nucks have to make that trade? None. Any trade for Boesser is going to have to involve Carlo or they are not interested.

Rask won't retire and Markstrom isn't signing that. Neither is Grzelcyk.

IMO the Bruins don't really have anything they need (like I can't see him in Boston). Maybe That same offer but a add a 1st

We shall see...Rask is a different animal. I'm betting the under in contract AAV in this covid environment unless it's top tier, ie Hall.

I think Chara comes back for 1-2M or he retires. He deserves to go out they way he wants to. If he comes back he is 3rd pair/PK specialist at most. I expect Gryz and Cliffy to make leaps. I don't see Gryz getting more than 3.25M. With flat cap I don't see big money being spent unless they are a top tier talent. It will be interesting to see what the post covid market will be. I expect GM's to be bearish.

I was actually thinking the same thing while comparing stats...I was curious of responses. He may not make much of difference if at all. I do wish DeBrusk had his dad's snarl...

People literally just hate the bruins so much they CANT accept when they have good players

I was told debrusk was a 3rd liner yesterday by someone

Im glad you were unbiased and looked from a realistic standpoint smile

Yeah Debrusk and a 2nd for Boeser is the MOST the bruins would ever put in

It will definitely be an interesting offseason for everyone. The cap not increasing will have the biggest affect on teams. But i don’t see free agency costs dipping significantly from previous years.

Unfortunately Bruins feel the same way about Chara, they will keep signing him til he says he’s done. Problem is he’s done and does not realize it.

B’s need a LD and 2nd line wing. How they go about it and who they are targeting is mystery at this point.

I hope he retires...not sure how reliable he will be going forward.

It will be interesting how much money gets thrown at UFA's...I am thinking teams will be careful.

It’s only for 1 year, he retires when his contract expires. They should at least explore trade options. See what is out there.

I think you're right and I think the mid tier ufas are gonna get screwed. The top guys like markstrom whos the 2nd best goalie and dadanov whos what the 2nd best winger probably find homes.

I don’t Rask is a great goalie. Halak showed why he can’t grab a starters role again.

That's a major underpay for Jacob Markstrom, Try more like 5 x $5,500,000 or 5 x $6,000,000 at the very least.

Good for him if he gets it. Each player should max out and take care of their future/family. I just think the flat cap will bring some prices down. In this exercise, B's would need goalie to share duties with Halak...I preferred Doby but he is playing lights out and may have priced himself out. Who would you choose to pair with Halak and why?
