Russell will cost a 3rd to move.

You're paying too much for Jost. 14OA and 26OA is a big difference in this draft class.

Toronto doesn't want those players. Khaira would be like 3rd line on the Marlies. Benning would be the 7th D but costs 2M just on his QO.

Khaira and Benning have been linked to the Leafs for a few years now. Dubas might not give up picks for them, but it doesn't mean he's not interested.

I think there's a GM or two out there that still values what Russell brings to the table as a 6D, and given he's an expiring contract owed only 1.5M in real dollars, I'm not convinced EDM would need to give up a 3rd.

Jost is only 22 with potential, regardless of what he's shown in the NHL. Maybe the Avs add on a 3rd or 4th but I don't think I'm too far off in value.

Russel is a legit top 6 D, and only 1 year left at 4 mil. He would Comand a 3/4 at the trade deadline as a rental.

Toronto has been linked to both those players and both would play. No 3rd line ahler

Why does St.Louis draft after Colorado if St.Louis lost in the round of 16 and Colorado lost in the round of 8?

Colorado was the highest ranked team that lost in the round pick 8. They should be getting the 26th pick OA.

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding something.

The draft order of non-conference final teams is based on regular season winning %, and division winners are also placed at the bottom of the draft order.

St Louis had a better win% and won the Central so Colorado picks ahead of them.

I agree that it would have been more logical to have conference semifinalists picking after teams that got knocked out in round 1, but that's the way they chose to go.
