They might not have a choice but to play Bellows and Wahlstrom at the same. Our cap situation is terrible thanks to the NHL f*cking over all the buyers and freezing the cap. Not only did the sellers get all their draft picks they're laughing now because they're well below the salary cap. They should have at least let it go up this year then freeze it next year so the buyers weren't screwed over. All of them were counting on the cap going up. If Lou knew what this year was going to be like. Lee, Eberle and Nelson would more than likely be making less or possibly one of them would have been left to walk. but that's just my opinion.

Would you really be surprised if Ladd's back issues reappeared? I get that opposing teams fans don't want to see the islanders be able to circumvent the cap, but there is a decent chance someone (probably Ladd) will go on LTIR.

The point regarding the wingers, if Dobson is projected to be a first pair demen in 2 years , isles could trade Pulock one for one for WPG Elhers. That is the only way I see the acquiring wingers besides having Wahlstrom or Holmstrom develop.

It's really not that hard for them to create the cap space to retain the RFA and Greene, if they trade Leddy. Do you think they end up regretting the Lee contract? I think he's a beast if he's playing on a line with a guy like Tavares where he can get in front of the net and redirect shots, but I don't think you're ever gonna see the 34 and 40 goals in back to back seasons with Barzal.

I don't think Trotz is getting the most out of Lee by putting him on Barzal's line. I'll admit they've been dominant as of late, but lee's style of play is better suited for Nelson's line. I believe Lee has taken 3 shifts with Nelson in the playoffs, and 2 of those shifts Lee scored a goal. It's not a surprise. Next season, beau and lee should switch.

I don't have a problem with Lee's AAV, but the term is a bit long, which is why they'll probably end up buying him out in 3-5 years if Dobson and Wahlstrom have an impact like I think they will. At least his contract isn't buyout proof like boychuk and Ladd.
