But for real, teams aren't rebuilt through free agency, especially with weak depth players. None of Peca, Galch, DiPauli, Vesey are better than guys Ottawa has that they can promote internally. Ennis was solid for Ottawa, but he's earned a bigger deal than that, and he will be coveted by teams with real shots at the cup. Jost is a good young defensive forward, but he's got no business in the top six, and I don't think he takes a C spot from Tierney, Norris, Brown.

Hamonic and DeMelo are great, but again, will get offers from competitive teams.

Also Dell is bad, and Ottawa should be comfortable with Nilsson/Hogberg as the tandem going forward. Nilly has been a capable starter, and Hogberg showed a lot of promise last year.
