ACGM of other teams have all traded for our young RFA. No one waives their NTC so go w our older players and draft for the future.
CapFriendly has a calculator that allows you to see the tax differences if a player is traded from one team to to another. It is big... TB has many NTC, financially it is hard to think someone would waive.
Their calculator if a player made 5,250,000 in Tampa the equivalent in:
Toronto less 727,000 per year
NY less 426,000 per year
San Jose less 656,000 per year.
The only cities where the take home is the same are Dallas, FL, Vegas and Nashville. Vegas has cap issues so that is not realistic.
Sergachev will get an offer sheet above 6.4 probably..... NYR are going to be an amazing team this year, those are the most valuable picks. Habs should gun for him.
did not take your #1
2020 1st round pick (CAR)
2021 1st round pick (NYR)
2020 3rd round pick (NYR)
Rangers and Leafs would have make further deletions in the lineup to be cap compliant with these trades. Few teams have the cap to take on other high teams high priced RFAs, so I don't think the players "trade" value is the same as the "on ice" value.

the devils could certainly make it work without putting themselves in a cap pickle for the next 3 or 4 years. they have 4 firsts in the next two years and about 28mm in space. roughly 20mm once blackwood and bratt have re-signed as RFAs.
