Description

On year 3, we would have 14M (if the cap is still flat) to sign Suzuki, Nurse, Puljujärvi, Evans, Romanov, Juulsen and Primeau. Chiarot walks, and a winger (Drouin, Gallagher ?) gets traded for cap space.

Value is too much according to me on the DET trade. Mantha is really not worth that amount, especially with the 16 ovr. Det fans seem to think that Mantha is worth as much as Crosby.
This package would currently get us Tarasenko or Gaudreau, which are more interesting players.

Right now, Tarasenko or Gaudreau might be more interesting, but Tarasenko's cap hit is higher and is injury prone, while Gaudreau can just walk in 2 years. Mantha is younger and can still grow, and is RFA, so we have would have the power to lock him up for longer than both other players.

Because of these reasons, plus the fact he's from here, I'd rather make a move on him, and would be willing to move this package for it.
