Just a possibilty

COL is obviously a team capable of winning the Cup. IMO it would be in the best interests of Sakic to try for one before Makar and Landeskog need new contracts. The Marner trade gives them an upgrade.
Jost is unneeded, they can get some assets for him while taking a smallish cap dump

I don't think COL would want to break up that insane top line plus Rantanen has a lower cap hit for being a similar player. If you wanted to do the trade TOR should add like a 2nd rounder or a B prospect imo

I think if Mikko played in TOR, people think he is a top 10 player. Not enough gets made of how big, strong on the puck, and what a great passer he is.

I think if Marner played in TOR he would be considered a top ten player, too. I think he would really being out the sniping in MacKinnon and probably Landeskog, too
