I like the Holtby add and the Dumba deal, but I think you're overpaying a bit in the Washington trade. And offer sheet in that money range for Anderson is also definitely gonna get matched.

This team would be tough to play against but while the centers are solid none of them are a true 1C which would be this teams downfall.

You gotta draft and develop a #1 Center. CGY will never get a #1 C for Gaudreau.

Good tough players is what the Flames need. I would be extremely happy if this all happened. Wilson Tkachuk and Bennett on a line would really do some damage.

Wilson, Eller for Gaudreau, Jankowski, Parsons

I accept this if I was Washington, but the Capitals are not trading Wilson. Even though they "win" this trade, it would be a PR nightmare.

Thanks for your nice comments.
But the thing people forget is it's going to be a flat cap for the next 2-3 years and CBJ only has around $5M in cap space with Dubois needing to be signed.
So the offer sheet for Anderson really puts them in a tough spot. Without them moving at least 2 guys there's almost, almost no way they can afford to sign both PLD and Josh Anderson.

They'd have to try and trade out one of their bigger contract guys to do it.

It's true that none of them are what people would consider "true #1 centers" but the fact that Backlund starts more games than any other center, he could embrace the role until a better option comes along.

After moving Dubinsky to LTIR, they'll have a bit over 11 million in cap space. Depending on the deal Dubois gets, plus Gavrikov, that puts them about 1-3 mil away from affording Anderson. They likely do a Wennberg buyout or D man trade to do that.

Really like Backlund, one of the more underrated players in the league.

This squad would be an interesting study in lineup building, no true 1C but three 2/3C's and the top 3 lines all have a an ability to produce and would also be tough to play against, the D is a nice mix of offense, defense, size and mobility.

Quick! Pretend you were joking!

I understand your frustration with this group, Gramps, but these trades would be extremely rash.
