Description

2019 offseason was a bust, time to try again.

Not sure on the Vancouver deal. Does Vancouver want a goalie that can play a good 1B role and have to worry about long term/ draft protection?
Wennberg is bought out. We give him a 1 year try out to play under a different coach.

This is about the best case scenario for the expansion draft. We would only require protecting Staal, Aho, Turbo, Svech, Kerfoot, Geekie and Foegele. Only leaving career AHLers exposed on O. Slavin, Pesce, and Fleury on D, only exposing Gardiner.
Busy off-season though. Trying to re-sign Palmeiri and Hamilton. Brodin and Wennberg probably walk. Raanta may walk if Demko takes over the net. If not we have a really good tandem until Koch is ready.

again that article is speculation at the trade. It doesnt say it was ever on the table, that Geurin made the offer, or that Tallon turned it down. The writer is speculating what Tallon would want/consider for Trocheck. Then the actual trade for Carolina happens. Im not sure what is more likely to prove the desire of a GM, speculation of a writer or an actual trade. You decide.

You're right (and this was my exact point in my initial comment so I'm glad we agree) I don't think Guerin made an offer either since it says "General manager Bill Guerin does not want to trade defenseman Jonas Brodin". Like I said, if we wanted Trocheck we could have made a trade for him at the deadline, but the deal never happened.

Here's what I said initially: Not to mention if Guerin really wanted to trade Brodin for Trocheck, he could have done so when he was still with Florida at the deadline

That's my whole point. We could have made an offer and gotten a deal done, but we didn't.

The point missing is what Tallon said when Guerin asked about Trocheck. Tallon could have said "if we are trading Trocheck we need a center back." Seeing Minnesota's lack of it, the conversation was over.

its not different. You are using speculation to prove that you are right. I am using speculation to say you using speculation for saying a trade wouldnt happen is silly.

I'm saying we're both right, lol. I think the Panthers were interested in acquiring a center, but I also think they were interested in trading Trocheck for a defenseman.

I don't have to speculate that the trade wouldn't happen, it didn't happen.

how about Fleury? He does well on his off side. Has been playing it since Hamilton and Pesce went down. He has more value than Bean. What is the offer?

How many more you want? This proposal isn’t even in the top 10 of overused. Pesce to Toronto for Kapanen or Nylander or spare parts. Andersen to Car for too high of picks or Pesce. Dumba to Toronto for any of the previously mentioned.

I’ll drop the trade the mean time and come up with something else.
