Carolina fans are about to rip this one to shreds, as they should. Nobody wants a 30 year old goalie with 1 year left in exchange for a 25 year old top pairing defensive defenceman.

Canes don’t touch that trade.

I would do the Rangers trade. Kapanen is massively overrated. As for Pesce, once again the thing that is hurting Carolina is goaltending and spending huge on Lehner may not be the answer there since he's going to cost more

Zero chance Carolina trades for a goalie that didn't want to play there before. Especially when it's giving up their second best defensive d-man.

I disagree about Kapanen. I think if given a full season in the top 6 this season he could hit 55-60 points. Provides grit, forechecking, fighting, penalty killing, and stupid good speed. Trading Pesce when there are goalies as good or better than Andersen on the UFA markets would be stupid.

If they really want Andersen, they can have him for a 2nd rounder and another 2nd or 3rd rounder, provided that TOR finds a replacement. No need to trade their 25 year old shutdown D for him.
