Both of these trades are just not good for us. Like at all. At least the Tampa trade is good value wise, but neither Johnson, nor Killorn spark any interest whatsoever from me. Any talks of moving Couture to Buffalo starts with the 8OA. No, he’s not worth it 1 for 1, but getting rid of arguably our best forward for an early 2nd and a washed up, overpaid, injury prone winger doesn’t do it for me either.

I understand Couture is worth more than a 2nd to the team right now but you have to keep into account the last 3 years of his contract are a cap dump. 24M dollar cap dump is already two 1sts at a minimum.

If his deal was for 4 more years he's definitely worth a mid-high 1st. But with the contract going till he's 38-39 that's just not happening.

I mean I definitely understand where you’re coming from, but that still doesn’t bring his value down to a 2nd and Johansson. His production will certainly drop in the last 2-3 years of his contract but he probably won’t be a cap dump.
