Calgary would lose Sam Bennett! Our highest draft pick in team history!!! Kid had a 13.2% shooting % last year... Lets wait and see what he can do with some top 6 wingers...

Sorry then answer is NO just not going to happen!!!! Looked through your roster and including future projections... not a single player Calgary would trade Bennett for.... You would need to throw in a few draft picks...

That crossed my mind. Thought maybe they could protect top 4 D along with Johnny, Monahan and 2 other Fs (Granlund/Backlund/Frolik). Brouwer can be left exposed due to his age. If they were to extend Granlund they could possibly leave him exposed and he still wouldn't be selected. Same with Ferland.

I agree. I'm just dreaming of what could be in a few years with Bennett, Erikson-Ek and Kunin down the middle.

All 3 will probably end up better than any center in team history...

I think it's a tougher call than an automatic YES for the Wild. Dumba has a chance...not for sure, but a chance to be a top 10 defenseman in the NHL. He's got all the skill in the world (can skate like the wind, shoot, hands, toughness, etc)...it's just a matter of whether or not the game slows down for him. Bennett might be a perennial 40 goal guy too...so both teams are giving up players that might be great some day. If I ran the Wild and the Flames demanded Granlund be included - I would want Engelland removed from Calgary's side and have a 2nd rounder thrown in instead. I don't want anything to do with Engelland and his contract if I run the Wild.

I haven't checked to see if my counter offer works cap-wise for either team...but value-wise, they make more sense...at least to me.
