Feel like one of Drouin or Domi are gone this offseason. Habs arent good enough to be running one of them on the 3rd line

Love this. Similar to mine from earlier with some changes. Very realistic and reasonable outcome. I’d like to give Poehling a shot at 4C, but I understand why you didn’t put him there. Great job. Tatar to NSH also makes sense.

I find it funny that Montreal have needed a top center for years, and Domi puts up over 70 points at center a year ago, and you guys think it makes sense to move him to the wing lol. You make room for 70 point centers, not look to move him somewhere he's a lesser player. Talk about backwards thinking.

Danault. KK and Suzuki are better centers than Domi.

If you actually watch some games, Domi isn’t good defensively and in the faceoff circle. Danault plays against other team top line EVERY night and still did 50 points. Suzuki’s gonna be Elite, he’s the real deal. Kotkaniemi have been one of the best forward this post-season and he’s a natural Center. We DON’T have room for Domi at Center, that’s it.

You cant switch the 2nd and 3rd line, but Lehky-Danault-Byron will play against other team top line, that means more minutes than Kotkaniemi playing other teams 3rd line.

What he said. Domi is a good player though @Darth_Dubious don’t get us wrong, but we only have room for him at the moment at LW. If he would rather get traded and play center than stay and play LW with Montréal, so be it. He’ll probably/hopefully stay though. He loves the city and all the fans love him. Plus, if there’s injuries at center, he’s easily the first guy we’re going to look at to play center.

For sure, MTL has 3 2nd lines (2 good and 1 average) here but they're missing star power which Drouin + could potentially return. For a guy that'll put up 50 points and play 15 minutes a night, whatever they get back may be better

We placed him on the 1LW of course he’s good lol we didn’t draft Kotkaniemi 3OA to play LW Sticking Out Tongue

Name one of them that have put up 70 points at Center. Absolutely mind boggling that you guys want to rush your prospects, which in turn will ruin them just like Galchenyuk, when you have a 70 point center already on your roster. That you think somehow should playing on the wing. Who's crazier? the fan base or the GM lol

Maybe, but Drouin might explode and worse case he hits 50 points

Im a Leafs fan but they aren't rushing their prospects. Suzuki has probably been the best centre in their series against Pitt (on either side) which is saying a lot. Danault is one of the better defensive centres in the league and while KK was rushed, hes pretty much ready now and tore up the AHL when they sent him down. Domi > KK right now obviously but Kotka could pass him with an all around game as soon as next season

MB is a fine GM. Other than the Drouin and Alzner moves, his moves 2016 and onwards were pretty good overall. Also, Suzuki and KK are the future. They’re 20. Of course they haven’t scored 70 points yet, but they could soon and play well at center. Danault is a rly reliable center who is great at faceoffs and is a consistent 50-55 point guy. Why would we play Domi at center over them. Sure Domi had 70 points, but points aren’t everything for centers. You need to be good at faceoffs and play well defensively, things the other three do way better than Domi. Domi wants to be center, but he plays like a winger, like Galchenyuk. That’s reality.

Roll with Domi and Danault, one takes the offensive responsibilities, the other defensive. Have one of the kids as your 3rd line center and send to the other to dominate in the american hockey league until one of Domi or Danault fizzles. Which they aren't. Saying Suzuki is going to be elite is very different than saying his is now. Montreal isn't winning a cup any time soon, take your time with your prospects, but I guess this is Montreal we are talking about. Development isn't really their strong suit.

Agreed. Also, to KK’s credit, he was good for a 17 year old in his rookie season. His softmore season was disappointing, but he was also playing with defensive players that couldn’t really help him produce. On top of that, his skating, balance and stick work (his stick is a bit long) was still a bit sloppy, all things he greatly improved during quarantine and that he will continue to work on to be an even better player next season.

Suzuki produced 2nd line number in his rookie season, no reason to play him on the 3rd line or the AHL. He played as 4RW in the beginning of the season, and moved his way up to 2C, bumping DOMI to wing. He deserves his ice time. KK was having a slump, that’s why Domi was 3C, behind DANAULT and SUZUKI. Now that KK looks more than ready for the show during the play-ins, he will play WING or 4C like rn if he insists paying C, behind SUZUKI, KOKTANIEMI and DANAULT.

He’s either a troll or he’s delusional at this point. 😭😭Suzuki deserves every bit of ice time he has. Suzuki is actually the 1C as Kotkaniemi and him bumped Danault to 3rd line center after the recent line changes, which is crazy since those 2 are 20 and Danault is a very capable top 6 shutdown 55 point C.

But technically Lehky-Danault-Byron are the 2nd line because they’ll get more minutes than KK’s line

For next game, we bring Poehling in the line up ?

oh yea true. we basically have 3 2nd lines at this point lol. I think Weise should be out of the lineup and Poehling should get a shot. We have a nothing to lose and if he plays bad, Weal can take his spot. Weal will probably get Evans’ ice time though sadly.

It's just terrible asset management with what they are doing with Domi. He proved he can produce 70 points as a center, don't move him to the wing! The organization has the same vue as me I believe, since they aren't having him play there.
If they have already made up their minds that they are trading him though, maybe they shouldn't be playing him on the 4th line lol They can't wait one measly playoffs, that they have no chance at winning let's be honest, and have Domi play as their top Center, to boost his trade value? Again, terrible asset management.
