We have Danault why would we want Backlund. Hanafin is a piece that MTL would definitely be interested in, but Domi is more valuable than Hanafin from what I know.

Hanifin could be a terrific LD and play a ton of minutes has a very nice contract. He would fill a bigger hole than moving domi would create. Not intending to sound hard on domi habs just have more forward depth to allow considering something like this.

I really love Hanafin, but I think Domi could fetch a bit more, or at least a small package including Hanafin.

I’d see it as the type of deal doing what’s best for the hockey club not trying to maximize return. There is other options out there but I think hanifin might be the best LD with cost certainty that’s reasonably available. It could be debated back and forth who’s worth more but I think it’s close enough just to call it a deal not risk trying to squeeze a stone.
