It's not "my" draft list, I'm referring to the NHL on this. They're the ones that decide, remember? And yes, @CapFriendly is wrong on this and have been for weeks/months. NHL made the decision to use points percentage for draft position a while ago. Capfriendly is wrong: at this moment Florida holds the 17th pick and Edmonton the 20th. Obviously these numbers will change to reflect play-in and playoff results.

You refer to a "draft table", are you looking at a draft pick value chart? Because most of those don't reflect reality either. When I state that the cost to move up 3 spots in the middle of the 1st round is a mid-2nd, that's based on actual trades:

In 2018 NYR moved up to #22 for the cost of #26 and #48.
In 2017 DAL moved up to #26 for the cost of #29 and #70.
In 2015 PHI moved up to #24 for the cost of #29 and #61.
In 2015 CLB moved up to #29 for the cost of #34 and #68.

And now you're moving the goalposts. Your original post that I responded to was clearly talking about Ethan Bear, now you're trying to switch that to Caleb Jones?

Aha! Now I see where the rot set in. No wonder you took exception to my "trade." This is a team construction/post about Caleb Jones, I responded to it thinking about Caleb Jones, but I mistakenly wrote "Bear" in my first comment, and then the poster asked me what I thought about a package for Bear but I was still thinking about Jones. The trade I was trying to suggest was Edmonton moving from #23 to #14 in return for Jones and Khaira; I assume that you think Khaira would be an overpay.

It would never occur to me that Edmonton would consider moving Bear (or Broberg or Bouchard, for that matter). This was careless typing compounded by a failure to proof-read.

Once again, I have proven the accuracy of a life-long lesson that I nevertheless still violate from time to time: haste makes waste, and the Internet somehow creates a rush to type without sufficient reflection. I even euchred the OP into going down the wrong alley.

@CD282 @kafle22 For everyone's edification and perhaps amusement, I've now edited my previous posts to try to correct the record. Put this down to senioritis. Or carelessness.
