Description

This to me is a legitimate sharks team next season.
Is is a cup contender...... lol not likely!
But it’s a better than last year IMO!
We contend for the cup IF!!!!!
Meir and Labanc take a big step in their careers
Hertl uses the extended delay to next season to get healthy and he will be back 90-95%
The rest of the injured heal,
The old guys use the extra time to rest and recoup after years of short summers,
The kids who started playing better make a realistic jump to decent bottom 6 players instead of fringe NHLers,
If Karlsson Vlassic and Jones rebound to the players I know they can be and where a few years ago this team has a chance!!!

But just like this year that’s a lot of if’s and I worry we may only get half of those if’s which means fringe playoffs team.

Their starter is dubnyk and their future starter is kappo.
Stalock is a decent backup at best and I see him as the odd man out since kappo needs nhl starts and Dubnyk is not going anywhere much like jones with the sharks.
That being said what do you think is fair?

I’m more hoping for Marleau sake but we have the same deal with Washington so either way we get a 2nd and those are two teams that have a good chance

He had a major personal matter and wasn’t himself! last year he was good and I bet he rebounds, still you have to have a starter next year and kappo has to get some starts and I wouldn’t trust stalock as a full time starter and I doubt Guerin does either. Again
What’s your trade for stalock as he is your odd man out.

Is that trade better? I added a good young bottom 6 center and over a fringe nhl a really good prospect goalie (3 years away from any real nhl time) and a 3rd

Honestly wait to see who Minny starts vs Vancouver. That will tell you who Guerin and the coaching staff is trusting. If you want to bet on a bounceback maybe acquiring Dub is the way to go

the johnsson deal is decent enough if the leafs have another deal in place to bring in a dman and need to shed space.
with the flat cap they can probably squeeze dermott and mikheyev in along with a couple depth pieces without moving salary.

Meloche would be like a 8-9 DMan and the Marlies have a stacked defense but it doesn't hurt. Obviouslly we have Holl-Dermott-Lehtonen and then Liljegren (who had 30 pts in 40 AHL games), but maybe we could give Meloche a game or two.

Ya Meloche would be fine. Really any prospect added onto that trade isn't the deal breaker, and since there is an outside change Meloche becomes something at a needed position then he works well.
