Were you intentionally leaving guys on their ELC off this list?
I think that's an obvious one. No point in adding them in since they cap out at 925K per year. ELC's are essentially template contracts that a youngster automatically signs.
I think players who are still RFA after their deal ends shouldn't be on this list though seeing as they were somewhat handcuffed in signing their new deals. Was it really a good deal when the player didn't really have as much negotiating leverage in signing with the team anyway?

I had the same thought, was just curious. I've seen a few people do rosters like this but they still include McDavid and Matthews (which is mind boggling since he hasn't even played a game yet)
