Stagnant Cap - 4OV

Créé par: BStinson
Équipe: 2020-21 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 26 juin 2020
Publié: 29 juin 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Notable RFA - due to a reported three year stagnant cap and no CBO I think you can probably get players to take a little less. I see the following as comps:
Mantha - Guentzel (7.55% 6M 5YR)
Bertuzzi - E Lindholm (6.1% 4.85M 6YR)
Fabbri - AA (3.7% 3M 2YR)

TDL bait - Bozak, Helm, Glendening, Nemeth, Bernier, Allen, Bowey

STL trade - I’m not saying these players aren’t useful but rather they aren’t worth their entire cap hit and allows AP to sign.

4OV - Not adding to roster as I don’t believe whoever is available at 4 will be ready nor would I want them near this dumpster fire. I do believe this team will be much better but still top 5-10 in the 2021 draft.

Flame away! Also hopefully Columbus wins Lefreniere!

It's an interesting idea, but you're asking too much in picks. Adding Allen and Bozak would definitely make your team much better, so we're not paying people to take them.

They definitely make Detroit better (wouldn’t take much) but it’s more about how much they’re compensated vs acquiring a UFA like Haula for cheaper. So my rationale is how much is a 3C, backup goalie, 4th winger vs the approx 15M in cap savings?

If the futures don’t work for you then how much are willing to spend to have Steen bought out without including Allen & Bozak?

Well, Allen and Bozak are not spare parts for Detroit. Allen is their starter and Bozak takes half the draws, including most in the D-zone.

Honestly, if Steen gets bought out, whomever actually does it, he'll probably go to Winnipeg for a year.

Of course, the real main issue is Bozak and Steen accepting the trade.

Gotcha, I was working under the assumption that Steen would go back after the buyout to STL cheap and play bottom 6 allowing AP to sign back. Bozak possibly getting more ice time before FA to help secure a better payday. The cap space alone I figured wasn’t enough and Detroit could use a 3C and backup to Bernier but not at those cap hits. I’m not saying they’re bad players but rather Detroit should try to acquire overpaid or dumps for futures. If it doesn’t make sense for STL then Detroit just goes another direction like the Islanders.
