I'm not sure ARI does this trade, but I'm not familiar with Kamenev. Whats he like?

I don't think the Coyotes would have to retain anything and could probably get a 4th or 5th as well. Kamanev is still young and has had injuries so would be a pretty significant gamble from the Coyotes POV adding that pick may aliviate some of that risk.

i think you'd have a hard time finding a team to take $6.5m in a flat cap. stepan is a 30 pt player these days. kamenev can fill an nhl roster spot and coyotes save money.

Perhaps your right maybe he is only a 30 point player now or perhaps he just needs a change of scenery. So the question comes down to does the risk of Stepan only being able to put up 30+ points out weigh the risk of losing Kamanev to multiple injuries? IMO it does I would rather have the guy putting up 30 points a year than the guy on IR all the time. But maybe the trade lies somewhere in the middle perhaps Kamanev + 5th for Stepan (2.5 Mil retained)

I could see the Kings going for this.
