All of those contracts come out to $12,425,000 + whatever Virtanen signs for (likely around $3m) - so all in all about $15m. Whereas Eichel = $10m. If BUF really wanted to even out the salaries, They could probably include someone like Johansson who has a cap hit of $4.5m for only one more year to even it out more but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just think BUF if they traded Eichel is going to want premium prospects and picks with as little cap coming back as possible, because the only thing worse than being bad is being bad AND expensive.

Horvat and Boeser are on bargain contracts.

This is like Rantanen, Burakovsky and Kadri for Eichel. Except the caphit is 15M instead of 18 or 19M. You're not paying for cap dumps or old players.

But Boeser has serious health concerns, and no way the Avs trade those 3 for Eichel. I just think BUF would be foolish to trade Eichel and put themselves tighter against the cap.

The aren't really putting their self tighter against the cap. Who do they have after Reinhart playing on the right wing? Okposo?
